Ranking Sephora’s Bestselling Cheek Products

Happy Thursday babes! I’m back to ranking Sephora’s bestselling products. A few weeks ago I ranked their bestselling base products and today I’m ranking their bestselling cheek products; including bronzers, blushes, contour, and highlighters.

So, if you want to see if these best-sellers are worthy of their title, keep on reading cause I’m about to rank them for you!

Nars Blush

3/5 | Best suited for: normal to oily skin

This has been a cult classic blush for years, especially when it comes to Orgasm. It’s the sort of product that’s passed from generation to generation. The people love it! But why is that so? The formula performs great and there are a bunch of shades and finishes that serve many different skin tones/types but, IMO, it’s a pretty standard blush. It’s not exciting or innovative when you compare it to what’s out there. It’s a classic so I can understand why it’s a bestseller, but it would never be my first choice. Especially because this is a pricy blush.

This product kinda deserves to be a bestseller.

Tower 28 BeachPlease Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm

5/5 | Best suited for: Dry to Normal Skin

When it comes to ‘clean beauty’ this is hands down the best blush out there. It’s a multi-use product you can use on your face, eyes, and lips more a monochrome look. If that’s not your thing, you can stick to using it just as blush and you’ll be just fine. The formula is very balmy and pigmented but it’s easy to blend and sheer out to your desired intensity. Because it is an emollient cream blush, it does look dewy on the cheeks and it doesn’t dry down – which is why I recommend it for drier skin. Despite that, this is a quite long-lasting blush and it doesn’t migrate all over the face which is why I love it even though I have combo skin. If you haven’t tried this yet, pick out your favorite from the six shades available and experience its magic for yourself!

This product deserves to be a bestseller.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

4/5 Best suited for: All skin types

The Rare Beauty blushes are newer to the bestselling section on Sephora but they’re up there! When it comes to this blush you have the option of getting either a matte or a radiant finish so people with dry skin, oily skin, and everyone in between have something that works best for them. The shades you can choose from are on the brighter side and I find them to be quite unique. They’re all very pigmented and long-lasting but, I will say, the mattes dry down extremely fast so they’re a bit tricky to work with. The tiniest bit of product goes the longest of ways with both of these formulas which makes this blush ($20) a total bang for your buck!

This product deserves to be a bestseller.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

5/5 | Best suited for: Normal to oily skin

We have another cult classic on our hands, babes. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is the perfect matte bronzer that doesn’t pull too warm or too cool. That means you can use it to bronze, contour, or anything really. It depends on the shade that suits you best because, when they expanded their shade range (yay!) they modified the undertones to best suit different skin tones. But I digress. The formula is top-notch! Blends like butter and is very easy to build up or sheer out. This is a no-frills bronzer so if you’re looking for something that just works no matter what look you’re going for, look no further than the Hoola Bronzer!

This product deserves to be a bestseller.

Milk Makeup Baked Matte Bronzer

4/5 | Best suited for: dry to combo skin

The Milk Makeup cream bronzer had its moment a few years ago and, now that the hype has settled, it rests among the bestselling bronzers at Sephora. I have to say, this is one of my favorite cream bronzers because it works on my combo skin! The formula is matte and it blends easily into the skin and it’s easy to build up or layer other products on top of. It’s on the pricy side but there’s a lot of product in the packaging and this is a very long-lasting formula. So it’s worth the price. The only thing I don’t love is that it only comes in two warm-toned shades. But fingers crossed that they expand their shade range in the future! I know this has received mixed reviews but, overall, it’s a great option if you want a matte cream bronzer.

This product deserves to be a bestseller.

Fenty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick

3/5 | Best suited for: normal to oily skin

This is another product that has lost its momentum but a lot of people still love it. This is a matte finish cream contour that comes in seven cool tone shades to sculpt the face. As always, Fenty kills it with the inclusivity in their shade range. Upon first application, this is quite sheer but you can build up the intensity of the color or even use it as a base to layer other products on top. The formula is more on the drier side and it sets to a powder so you don’t get a lot of playtime with it. It can be a bit finicky but, if you warm it up before applying, it should blend easier. Personally, I look for contour products that apply and blend seamlessly from the get-go and I know there are a bunch of other products that do that even though they aren’t bestsellers.

This product kinda deserves to be a bestseller.

Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Kit

2/5 | Best suited for: all skin types / light-medium skin tones

This product was one of the first introductions to contour in the retail world and, at its time, it was all the rage. Inside of this mini palette you get a cool tone contour shade, a warmer bronzer shade, and a highlighting shade; all matte. The formula is pretty standard and it’s easy to blend and build up, which is great especially for beginners. The fact that it compacts three steps in one tiny palette makes it great for travel as well. But this only comes in one shade and that’s a big red flag. There are many other powder contour products out there that have more inclusive shades, perform just as well (or even better), and come at a more affordable price point. As a working Makeup Artist, I’ve used this and I can confidently tell you: it’s nothing you won’t be able to find at the drugstore for a quarter of the price.

This product does not deserve to be a bestseller.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

5/5 | Best suited for: dry to combo skin

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know this is one of my favorite products ever! It’s such a versatile product that you can use all over the face. But as a highlighter, it’s divine. Instead of having shimmers or glitter, this is a ‘glow from within’ highlighter. It makes your cheekbones look naturally glowy and it’s easy to blend and build up on the skin. This comes in 12 shades and a few different undertones and, since the formula is sheer, one shade can adapt to several different skin tones. Because it is Charlotte Tilbury, this is pretty expensive for a highlighter. But the insane quality and uniqueness of this product make it worth it. There truly is nothing else quite like it!

This product deserves to be a bestseller.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter

4/5 | Best suited for: all skin types

While the Shimmering Skin Perfector days are numbered, we can’t deny the fact that it’s one of the greatest highlighter formulas of our time. This product was the product that put highlighters on the map. And, sadly, they’re being discontinued soon because the formula is amazing. Despite being a powder, the formula is very buttery, bendable, and intensely shimmery. I’ve moved away from the intense highlighter look but I can’t deny the beauty of this formula. This comes in various shades and undertones to satisfy everyone’s needs and if you want to cop one before it’s too late, you can get your perfect shade on sale at Sephora right now. If you’ve never tried the Shimmering Skin Perfector this is your last chance!

This product deserves to be a bestseller and it will be dearly missed.

FENTY BEAUTY Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil

2/5 | Best suited for: all skin types

I cannot for the life of me understand why this highlighter is a bestseller. This has a very unique putty-like formula, and if you’re a fan of chunky highlighter, I understand why you’d want to buy this. But this is straight-up glitter! It looks chunky on the cheekbones, and it migrates all over your skin throughout the day. It looks beautiful as a body highlighter and as an eyeshadow and it might give your cheekbones a glossy finish in pictures and video. But it is not the highlighter I picture for the everyday gal or guy. This comes in three shades to suit different skin tones and, while it looks beautiful swatched, it will look like straight-up glitter on your face. If that’s not the look you want, stay away from this!

This product does not deserve to be a bestseller.

Conclusion

Okay so, overall I’d say that was a success. Most bestselling cheek products at Sephora actually deserve to be bestsellers! Even more so than the base products. And most of these products are suited for all skin types, which is exciting. Coming to think of it, that might be the reason why they’re bestsellers in the first place.

Before I go, friendly reminder that these are all my opinions as a working Makeup Artist and lover of all things beauty. So if you don’t agree with me, that’s a-ok! These are only opinions, not the absolute truth.

Ok, disclaimer aside, stay tuned for the upcoming weeks because my eye and lip bestseller rankings are coming soon!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope this post was helpful 🙂

Love always,

Isa ❤
