This week, I’m back with another product review for your reading pleasure. I don’t tend to review many skincare products cause I’m no expert, but I’m making an exception for an amazing new skincare discovery today!
If by now you haven’t seen or heard about the Youth To The People Superclay Purify + Clear Power Mask you have officially been living under a rock. It’s all over Instagram and Youtube and people can’t rave enough about it.
I’m here to confirm that this mask is in fact worth the hype. I’ve tried many clay masks in my time, but none like this. The unique blend of ingredients and texture makes this mask unique and a total must-have. Keep reading to learn why!
The formula of this mask feels similar to that of standard clay masks but it’s less drying and tightening. It’s almost comfortable on the face. This contains ingredients like BHA’s and Niacinamide that work to clean out the pores and even out skin texture. But even though it has stronger ingredients, it’s still a gentle mask that doesn’t irritate or strip the skin once it is removed.
A little bit of this mask goes a long way. You don’t need to add a thick layer of this for it to be effective. A thin, even layer all over the face or on problem areas will leave your skin feeling clean and visibly less congested. Whenever I use this, the blackheads around my nose area disappear. It’s like magic! I will say though, you only need to use it once or twice a week to notice the difference. So don’t overdo it.
Because of the nature of this formula, I think this would be the perfect mask for people with normal to oily skin who battle with clogged pores and uneven texture. You can still use it if you have drier skin, but I don’t think the formula would be as effective. Plus the ingredients could potentially dry your skin out more than it already is. If you have drier skin, you should stick to the Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C.
Packaging + Price
I have to admit, when I first held this mask in my hands I was a bit disappointed by the size of it. You get 2oz of product for $36 and while that doesn’t seem like a lot of product for the price, it’s a pretty standard mask size. When I actually used it and noticed the results, I concluded that the price is fair for the quality of the formula. It’s definitely not the priciest clay mask out there but it is one of the best.
The packaging is very on-brand for YTTP. I love how simple and clean it is and I absolutely love the fact that it’s fully recyclable. I know I can always count on YTTP for eco-friendly packaging that looks cool on my vanity!
So, who is this for?
- People with clogged pores and uneven skin texture
- People with normal to oily skin types
- People looking to gently incorporate chemical exfoliants into their skincare routine
