To me, spring is always a season of change and when everything starts blooming I like to switch up my makeup routine a bit. As the weather gets warmer and warmer, I like to let my skin breathe but I also want to get creative with my looks. I like to incorporate more color into my looks and I get super minimalistic about skin products.
I have a core group of five products that are must-haves for my spring makeup looks. So whether I’m keeping my makeup minimal or going more glam, these are the products I’ll reach for no matter what. Check them out below!
As we approach the warmer months I like to use light, buildable coverage base products for more flexibility. This one by Revlon has been one of my favorites for years because it blends out beautifully and looks like skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or slips n’ slides all over my combo skin so it wears well throughout the day. It has a lighter coverage so it’s perfect to even out my complexion and minimize the look of blemishes a bit. And it’s the perfect formula to mix with other products if need be. This isn’t a revolutionary product but it’s exactly what my skin needs in the springtime.
I own a lot of cream blushes so I’m constantly rotating them. No matter which cream blush I reach for, they’re one of my five staples for spring. Creams just give the cheeks that fresh, sun-kissed look with a bit of dew and I personally love that. This Physicians Formula blush has been my go-to lately because it’s my perfect everyday peach. The formula is dewy so it makes my cheeks look glossy in the best way and it blends out like a dream. A little bit of this goes a long way and it lasts a good amount of time considering the creamy formula. My favorite thing about this is the price tho. A total bang for your buck if you ask me.
I have naturally bushy brows so for my daily brow maintenance, I only use tinted brow gels. They fill in and shape my brows without being too much and they keep my brow hairs in place. I’ve been trying this new one from Kosas for a few days and it’s unreal! It became my go-to quickly because it fluffs and adds volume to my brows while slightly filling them in. It also sets my brows in place without that crunchy feeling that you tend to get from other brow gels and it looks natural. This is a gem, my friends.
Spring is the time for colorful eyeshadow looks and this palette has been doing the most for me. First of all, It’s Lizzie McGuire so, who wouldn’t love that? Second of all, the colors in this palette are gorgeous. There’s an array of shadows you can use individually for one shadow looks, or faux liner, or combine them for a glam look. The possibilities are endless! There’s a great mixture of mattes and shimmers and every single shade is easy to work with. Yes, even the glitter shade. And on top of the all amazingness of this palette, you have the super affordable Colourpop price. If you’ve been eyeing this, I say go for it.
Similar to my cream blushes, I rotate lipsticks all the time. But for springtime, I like to go for sheer lip products that are comfortable to wear and easy to reapply. Queue the Elf Sheer Slick Lipstick in Golden Pear. This is one of my all-time favorite formulas cause it feels like a lip balm on the lips but it gives you a nice veil of color. Plus it’s super affordable and the quality is unmatched. You can really build this up if you want that full pigment or you can apply a light layer for a sheer look –– which is what I do. The color of this lipstick is my perfect peachy shade and it goes with all of my looks, so this is a lip product I reach for every single week.
And there you have it. My five spring makeup essentials! Do you have any spring beauty essentials of your own? If you do, make sure to share them in the comment section.
