When I buy beauty products, I usually only think of using them one way. I get a bronzer, I’ll use it to bronze my skin; that kind of thing. But, I find that as I play and experiment more with my products, I start finding alternative ways to use them. I’ll add the bronzer as an eyeshadow, or I’ll use it for a subtle contour. I’m multitasking with my beauty products and I don’t even notice!
When you sit down and think of it, multitasking products make sense. You get more bang for your buck, you save space in your collection, you can pack light when you travel. If you’re not big on beauty products and only have a few in your collection, they might as well be multitasking products that you can use in many different ways.
If you’re a bit lost with this whole multitasking beauty product talk, don’t fret. In this post, I’m sharing the ultimate multitasking products you can find in the market. And in the essence of multitasking, I’m keeping the list short. Check it out!
This is the definition of a multitasking product. You guys know I love my Hollywood Flawless Filter and I use it to death, but to this day I don’t know exactly what it is. Since the glow is so natural, this product lends itself to a bit of experimentation.
The formula is like a chameleon, it adapts to what you want from it. You can use this product as a primer, a highlighter, you can mix it into your base products, you can even use it as a base product by itself. My favorite way to use it is under my eyes, before concealer. I find that the fine shimmers combat my dark circles very well. This is an expensive product but the fact that it’s so versatile makes it worth the money.
This product is a glorified balm and we all know we can do a lot with balms. This one is made to work well with makeup though, and that’s why bought it and love it over other balms. The formula is superior and long-lasting.
This is meant to be a highlighter topper but I use it as everything. Just on its own as a natural highlighter, as an eye gloss, on my brows for tame the hairs, and I’ve even used it as lipgloss. Now, you don’t have to go as hard as me on the whole multitasking thing, but this product can take it. I will say, this comes in a small package so if you use it daily all over your face you might run out fast. You don’t need a ton of product to get the look but constant use makes anything run out quickly.
Bronzers are easy to use as multitasking products and I’m willing to bet we all use bronzers as more than just products to warm our face up. I recommend using bronzers that lean more neutral for multitasking purposes. And if they’re creams, that’s even better.
This one by Fenty is my ideal multitasking bronzer because the formula is lovely and the color isn’t too warm or too cool. I like to use this all over the face as a bronzer, as contour when I want definition, and as a quick wash of eyeshadow all over my lids. The formula is easy to blend and it has a subtle shimmer that adds dimension to the product. You do not need this product to multitask with your bronzers but this formula (and wide shade range) does make it easier!
Even though it doesn’t seem like it at first glance, you can do a lot with a cream eyeshadow. And Revlon makes one of my favorites –– and affordable –– cream shadow formulas. The color of the cream shadow will either make it easier or harder to multitask with. And I find the ones that are perfect multitasking candidates are neutral colors.
You can use cream shadows as a wash of color all over the eyes, as a priming base, and you can even use them as eyeliner. Depending on the shade and formula you could even use yours as a highlighter, blush, or contour product. Talk about multitasking!
The Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencils were designed to be multitasking products. They’re safe to use anywhere on your face & body and there are a ton of colors to choose from. Today I specifically wanna talk about the shade Endless Cacao and why it’s so good as a multitasking product.
This shade is a contour shade for light to medium skin, in a small pencil. And that’s why it’s perfect to use all over. You can use it as eyeshadow, eyeliner, as an eyebrow pencil, as contour, and as a lip liner –– which is my personal favorite. The formula has enough glide to be bendable but it also lasts long wherever you place it. I say this all the time in my Youtube videos, but you seriously need this pencil!
And that concludes my five favorite multitasking beauty products in the market!
What are your thoughts on this whole multitasking product trend? Are you for it? Or would you rather reach for products only for their intended use?
