Maybelline Lifter Gloss review & swatches

If You Could Only Buy 1 Thing This Month, Buy The Maybelline Lifter Gloss

It seems like all I do is talk about lip gloss nowadays but I can’t help it. I’m obsessed! And guess what? I’m talking about even more glosses today.

Oops?

I recently discovered the Maybelline Lifter Glosses and oh my god are they good. I know everyone in the beauty community has raved about these but that’s because the product is rave-worthy.

And I’m gonna rave some more because these glosses are my new obsession and you guys need to know why I love them so much.

The formula of these is out of this world. It’s glossy but not sticky ––think of it as a slippery balm. It’s a very nourishing formula because it has hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and plump the lips. I haven’t really noticed any plumping but my lips do feel extra hydrated when I use these glosses.

You get a bunch of different shades and two finishes to choose from. The shimmery finish looks beautiful on the lips and it gives you a sheer glowy look ––not a metallic one. The creamy finish definitely deposits more pigment on the lips and gives you an even finish all-around.

L-R: Topaz, Stone, Petal, Moon

Neither of the finishes is extremely pigmented but you can build them up to enhance the color. Because these aren’t sticky, they won’t get goopy no matter how much you build them up. They’re also perfect to layer on top of other lip products because they’re not heavy and they veer on the sheer side.

These have often been compared to the Fenty Gloss Bombs and I can see why. The shades in both products are similar and the concept is almost the same. But Gloss Bombs feel heavier and a bit stickier than the Lifter Glosses and even though both products smell delicious, Fenty still takes the cake.

Nonetheless, I love how the wand is big like the Fenty one, cause it makes things easier and quicker. I also love the sleek, clear packaging that makes it easy to know what shade you’re using. When I look at these glosses I don’t think ‘drugstore’ and I quite enjoy that.

The best part of it all is that they are drugstore glosses so they’re affordable and accessible. They’re $8.99 for 0.18 fl. oz. and I think that’s a good deal, especially since they’re high-quality glosses.

So, who are these for?

  • Literally, anyone who loves comfy lip products
  • Anyone who’s looking to expand their collection on a budget
  • Lip gloss haters

If you could only buy 1 product this month, buy the Maybelline Lip Lifter Glosses. You won’t regret it!

Love always,

Isa ❤
