I know wearing lipstick has been more or less canceled. You know, because of wearing masks and all. But it doesn’t have to be completely canceled! Especially not during fall.
Fall is my favorite time to experiment with lip products because I love all the autumnal, warm tones. Over the years I’ve found a few staple lip products that I’m dying to share with you today.
For the most part, I’ve steered clear of the popular vampy colors, focusing instead on nudes, burnt oranges, and reds. They’re just more flattering (and easier to apply), in my opinion.
Check out my 6 favorite fall lip products below!
Glossier Generation G Lipstick in Leo
This has been a staple in my collection for 3 or 4 years now. But you guys already know cause I talk about it a lot. The color is a beautiful browny nude that will look different on every skin tone. On me, it looks like a darker brown and that’s why I love it for fall.
Perhaps my favorite thing about it is the sheer formula. This will never look intense which makes it perfect for everyday wear. It’s not intimidating to use and it gives your lips kind of like a stained look. It is matte but it’s very comfortable to wear and easy to reapply.
Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color in Boho
I usually like to stick to warm tones during fall but every once in awhile I like to branch out. This lipstick is a beautiful grayish brown color that doesn’t make you look dead. On my skin tone, it looks a bit dark but if you have a deeper skin tone this would be a wonderful nude.
The formula of this is very matte and insanely long-lasting. I’m willing to bet you could wear it under your mask and it would stay intact! It is super pigmented so it can be a bit hard to get the hang of it but, once you do, it’s a great fall lippie.
NYX Powder Puff Lippie in Teacher’s Pet
Moving on into orange territory we have this NYX lip product. It’s a very unique product that gives your lips that blurred effect that’s super popular. This particular shade is a light burnt orange that is very sheer upon first application but can be built up for a more intense look. If you want to start experimenting with bolder colors, this would be a great product to start with.
The formula is unique in the sense that it feels like a wet powder when you apply it. It’s creamy but it looks matte and velvety on the lips. Despite being a powder formula I don’t find this to be drying or feel uncomfortable. What I have noticed though, is that it fades quite quickly. It fades evenly but you do have to reapply after a few hours.
L’Oréal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Stain in Achieve
This is a brighter orange than the last one but it still has kind of a muted quality about it. If you’re still transitioning your makeup from summer to fall, I think this is a fantastic product to use. Because it still has the bright quality of summer but the orangeness of it all sets the tone for fall.
This is a traditional matte liquid lipstick formula but it’s one of the most comfortable ones I’ve tried. Plus the color makes the formula worth it. Despite being very watery, it’s very pigmented and easy to build up. You can also sheer it out if you don’t want to commit to the full color. Because it is a liquid lipstick it’s long-lasting and once it starts to fade, it does so very nicely.
Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Freckle Fiesta
This is my number one fall lipstick. It’s the perfect mix between burnt orange and terra-cotta and it looks so beautiful on every single skin tone. It’s honestly perfect and you all need to try it!
This formula has a matte finish but it’s more creamy on the lips. That means it’s very comfortable to wear and it’s nondrying. This lipstick is very pigmented so a little goes a long way but it’s easy and non-intimidating to use. You can sheer it out for a more subtle look or go all out with a few layers.
Lime Crime Plushies in Cherry Soda
I’ve talked about this formula before but not about the color. Red can be a bit unconventional as a fall lipstick but this one just works. It’s more of a muted raspberry red which gives your looks a more autumnal feel. It’s also a good ‘transitioning’ color to transform your summer routine into a fall one.
This is another liquid lipstick formula but, unlike other liquid lipsticks, this is a sheer formula. You can of course build it up but it’s meant to look more like a muted, sheer lipstick. It’s another a matte formula and it can be drying but if you layer it on top of a lip balm it’s very comfortable to wear all day long.
And those are my 6 favorite fall lip products that I will definitely continue to use even if it’s under my mask!
Do you have any favorite fall lipsticks that you wanna share with me? I know I don’t need any more lip products but I’m always eager to try something new lol.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this was helpful 🙂
