It’s hard to believe there was a time when I just used powder products when doing my makeup. I used to think that creams were only for dry skin and that they wouldn’t work on my combo skin. But the moment I tried them I was proven wrong. Waaaay wrong.
I love the way cream products look on my skin and I reach for them daily. In my opinion, they look better on the skin and they’re easier to use when you get the hang of them.
Over the past month, I’ve established a makeup routine with some specific cream products and I want to share it with you today. Check it out below!
As you all know I don’t reach for a foundation daily. Instead, I go for a concealer that works well under my eyes and face to cover anything that needs to be covered. For the cheeks, I’ve been loving the RMS Beauty Signature Set: Pop Collection (review here). This tiny palette has everything I need for a full look and the colors play perfectly with my skin.
Sometimes I use the RMS palette for my eyeshadow but when I’m looking for a little more dimension I reach for cream shadows. They’re easy to create pretty eye looks without getting too elaborate. I switch products depending on the look I’m going for. And for lashes and brows I stick to a simple look; a lengthening mascara and tinted brow gel.
As always, the lips are the element of my routine that change the most day to day. If I’m going for a full cream makeup look, I like to reach for a classic, creamy bullet lipstick to create a sort of cohesiveness in my makeup. Or maybe that’s just in my mind. While the color tends to constantly change, I almost always reach for a nude. Or a red in this case.
