I’ve been quarantined for over 100 days (I’m based in Guatemala City) and to be quite honest, I’m starting to go crazy. At this point, I’ve pretty much given up on makeup altogether.
The only thing I haven’t given up on is my lips. I have very dry lips so it’s literally impossible for me to neglect them. Unless I want painful, cracked lips. Spoiler alert: I don’t! I know you technically can’t even see my lips nowadays ––because of the whole mask thing; but I still wanna take care of them.
That’s why I’m bringing you a brand-spanking-new Lipstick Diary. Today, I’m sharing what’s been keeping my lips looking good and nourished while on lockdown.
Check them out!
Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly in Chill
I can’t get enough of these Tower 28 glosses. Especially this one because it’s clear, easy to work with, and it makes my lips look extra juicy.
I wore this mostly on the days when my lips were feeling extra dry. I like to apply a good lip balm and then go in with this to seal the deal. It’s kind of unconventional, I know, but because of its ingredients, this gloss just works. Especially if I want something longer-lasting than just a lip balm.
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Peach
I used this lip balm the most, out of the 3 products I’m sharing today. Its lightweight formula is perfect for daily use to keep my lips feeling hydrated and looking slightly glossy.
This has a really light peachy tint that’s undetectable on the lips but the peach scent is out of this world! I wouldn’t recommend using this when you need to ‘repair‘ your lips. It’s more of a keep-your-lips-from-drying-out kinda balm.
Lanolips Tinted Lip Balm SPF 30 in Rhubarb
This product is the perfect mix of a lip tint and a balm. Subtle enough to look like you’re not wearing anything, yet nourishing on the lips. The formula sinks into the lips almost instantly and it makes your lips feel so soft and hydrated. It also contains an SPF of 30 but since I’m not really going outside, it’s kinda useless.
I mostly wore this on the days when I had zoom meetings to make myself look alive. I even added a bit on my cheeks and used it as a blush on the days I was feeling extra. Because it absorbs quickly, you get a balmy look as opposed to a glossy look so it works wonderfully on the skin as well.
And that’s what my week in lipsticks looked like! Have you been gravitating to any specific lip products while on lockdown?
Thank you so much for reading!
