Review time is back, baby! And it’s better than ever.
This week we’re discussing the oh-so-famous Hydro Grip Primer by Milk Makeup. The internet has gone mad for this primer and I wanted to be a part of the madness, so I decided to dedicate a full post to it.
I’ve been experimenting with this primer for a few months now and I’m finally ready to share my thoughts and help you out.
Let’s get to it!
Let me just start by saying, this is one of the weirdest primers I’ve ever tried. I know everyone says that, but it’s true. It reminds me of the J. One Jelly Pack, but so much better.
This primer is extremely nourishing and full of ingredients that will be kind to your skin. It gives your skin a radiant and hydrated appearance and it makes you look healthy af.
The best way to describe the formula is by comparing it to a gel. When you start rubbing it in, it gets tacky. And the more you rub it in, the tackier it gets. Despite its consistency, it isn’t hard to apply at all. And the tackiness allows your foundation to really lock in and stay in place for hours.
The one thing I will say about the formula though is that you have to let it sink into your skin. I’d say wait for about 2 minutes before going in with other products on top. Otherwise, it’ll start pilling and it won’t be a cute look.
But other than that, the primer works great. It prolongs the wear of makeup, it makes my combo skin look amazing and it smells like heaven!
If you’re not a fan of foundation or face products, you can still get a ton of use out of this. You can wear it on its own and achieve the glass skin look everyones after these days.
The Hydro Grip Primer is $30 and you get 1.52 fl. oz of product inside. If you want to try this out before committing to full size, you can get a travel size primer for $15. I have absolutely no complaints about the price and I’ll pay it again and again if it means having this primer in my life.
The packaging is one of my favorite things about this. It’s very on-brand and sleek. And I love the fact that it’s clear so that I can keep track of how much I’ve used. Ughh I love it!
If you skipped the whole review and didn’t get this: I freaking love this primer. It’s possibly one of my favorite primers ever. It’s very unique and treats my skin right.
If you haven’t tried this out yet, what are you waiting for?!
Have you tried the Hydro Grip Primer yet? What did you think of it?
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this was helpful 🙂
Lots of love,
