Today I’m coming at you with a new product review. This product has been out for a while now but I never got around to reviewing it.
I’m talking about the Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette that came out over a year ago in collaboration with Morphe. (If you’ve read the title you’ll know this already.)
I wanted to share what I really think about this because often times products that are collabs with influencers and famous people get a bad rep. People are only buying it because they’re loyal fans, the product isn’t even that good, and the list goes on.
So, as a consumer, how do you know if the product is a good investment or not? That’s what I’m here for!
I’ve had my palette for about a year now and I’ve played with it enough to have some thoughts on it. If you wanna know if the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette is worth your $$, keep reading.
Let’s start this off by talking about the actual product.
When the palette was first announced, thought the color scheme was beautiful. And I was correct. There’s a huge variety of neutrals, smokey shades, and a few pops of color. Most of them are warm tones but a few cool tones make an appearance here and there.
There are plenty of mattes and shimmers in it as well, so you never have to reach for another palette. The wide variety of colors and finishes give you endless look possibilities.
Now, Morphe has improved their eyeshadow formula over the years, and it shows with this palette. I’d say 95% of the shadows in here perform beautifully. But there are a select few that are kind of patchy and a bit tricky to work with.
The mattes in the palette blend really well. They’re very smooth, pigmented and they apply wonderfully. The shimmers are extremely buttery and intense. You don’t even need to wet your brush to make them look blinding. And I love that!
If you couldn’t tell by now, I enjoy using this palette. It has my easy everyday colors in it but it also gives me the option to go bold with my makeup every once in a while. I really appreciate that.
Moving on to one of my favorite things about this palette, the price!
This retails for $38 and you can find it online, at Ulta and at Morphe stores. There are 35 eyeshadows inside which is a total bang for your buck. In my opinion the price is very reasonable because you get 35 eyeshadows. And on top of that they’re really high quality.
The only thing I don’t really love about this, is the packaging. I like the design on it but the fact that it’s white means that it gets dirty really fast. It’s also cardboard so it’s flimsy and not the best to protect the product inside. It’s also huge, obviously, so it’s not the best to travel with. But that’s to be expected for a 35 eyeshadow palette.
Another thing I’m not crazy about is the fact that the shadow names are on the back. Why do brands do that? Fortunately Morphe was kind enough to color code the names so they’re not impossible to figure out.
Overall, I think this is a great palette with a great price point. If you’re just starting out or you simply want a palette that has every color you might ever need, I think you’d love this!
The internet raves about it, Jaclyn Hill fans rave about it, and I do too. This is a Morphe product that’s worth your money.
If you’ve been contemplating this purchase I say, go ahead! Really. Just do it before they discontinue it or something crazy like that.
If you own this palette, what do you think of it? Do you love it? Hate it?
Thank you so much for reading!!
Lots of love,
