I’m a huge palette lover and I think eyeshadow palettes are a great value for money. But they’re not for everyone. If you’re not an eyeshadow wearer, palettes might just be a little too much for you.
That’s where single shadows come in. In the last few months a lot of brands have been coming out with singles. And even though single eyeshadows are not a new concept at all, everyone is raving about them.
I wanted to chime into the conversation and let you guys know the ins and outs of single shadows. I’ve done my research and I found 6 single eyeshadows that you need in your collection.
The Eyeshadows
Colourpop Shadows
I’m cheating a bit cause I’m featuring two different formulas. But Colourpop is just killing the game with their eyeshadows!
The super shock shadows are a staple and if you’ve never tried them, go get one right now. The formula is really unique and super easy to use. As always, Colourpop has every color and formula imaginable, so there’s something for everyone.

The same goes for their regular pans. There’s a huge variety of color and the formula is great. The best thing about these is that they’re affordable and very accessible too.
Natasha Denona Chroma Crystal Top Coats
These aren’t actually eyeshadows but they’re still fab. If you don’t want to fuzz with shadows but you want to add a little something to your look, try these.

Now, these babies are expensive. But they’re so worth it! The formula is really easy to manipulate, and the colors are really unique yet wearable. These top coats are perfect for beginners because they’re super easy to blend.
Bodyography Glitter Pigments
I rave about these all the time on Instagram! Just as the name suggest they’re really glittery but it’s not overwhelming. They’re actually really easy to use.

If you’re looking for something to give you an instant glam effect, get these. You don’t even need multiples cause this formula is perfect for one shadow looks. Just get your go-to color, slap it on and feel your best.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pots
For some reason these are not as talked about as the other shadows, but they’re just as good. The formula is really soft and buttery and it’s easy to apply.

These are all super intense and metallic and most of the colors in the range are wearable. If you dip into these with a light hand you’ll get a really natural application. But if you want more intensity that’s easily achievable as well.
L’Oreal Infallible 24 hr. Eye Shadows
The OG of single-metallic shadows. These have been in the market for years now, and they’re as fabulous today as they were 5 years ago.

First of all they’re really affordable and you can get them at any drugstore. Total score! They also have a lot of neutral and fun colors to choose from. If you’re looking for something that’s impactful but not glittery, these will work for you.
Dose Of Colors Block Party Eyeshadows
Foiled goodness. That’s the only way to describe these. They’re intense, they’re creamy, they’re every makeup-lover’s dream!

There’s a healthy mix of neutrals and crazy colors in this range but my favorite part is the finish. They’re a cross between foil and glitter and they’re totally unique. These make a statement for sure.
And there you have it! I made sure to include a few different formulas and finishes in the mix so that everyone can find what suits them best.
If you were to add some other shadows to the list, what would they be and why?
Thank you all so much for reading!
Lots of love,
Isa ❤
