Even though I love makeup, I’ve never been a heavy foundation wearer. I don’t like applying a ton of products on my face every day but I do like the look of even skin. It’s a total dilemma.
Thankfully sheer foundations exist. Not tinted moisturizers or BB creams. Sheer foundations. I’ve gotten into the habit of using them over the past year and I have found the ones that work the best for me.
Check them out!
Now, if I have an event or something of that sort I do like to go the full coverage route. But for everyday makeup I have found sheer foundations to be much more flattering on me. They don’t make me look as cake-y and heavy as full coverage ones do. They make my skin look healthy and they complete the look. Plus they’re very easy to apply and retouch throughout the day.
These are my top 4 sheer foundations:
1. Make Up For Ever Water Blend Face & Body Foundation | $43 |
This is the first sheer foundation I ever bought and it turned me into a sheer coverage lover. Since this formula is water-based it feels really lightweight on the skin and it does not make me oily at all. Out of all of the foundations I’m talking about in this post, this is the one with the lightest coverage but it is also the one that makes my skin the plumpest.
2. MAC Face And Body Foundation | $30 |
This one’s a similar concept to the MUFE one but I like it better. This product evens out my skin perfectly and it covers small imperfections. It’s safe to say it’s a light/buildable coverage that makes my skin look natural yet flawless. I love applying it with my hands to get the best look but I think a brush would apply this formula nicely, as well. It’s also great for layering other face products on top so it’s great for a makeup lover like me.
3. Nudestix Nudies Tinted Blur Stick | $30 |
Ahh, the foundation that is not a foundation. I have a full review on this product so I won’t go on and on about it. I love this because it’s not only a versatile product but it also makes my skin look airbrushed. It’s a light coverage and you can definitely build it up but it will always stay sheer. I like to think of this product as a my-skin-but-better foundation because it trully becomes one with my face.
4. Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation | $70 |
This one’s by far the most expensive one out of the bunch and I have also reviewed it before so I’ll be quick. Out of all the foundations I’m talking about today, this is the one with the highest coverage (light/medium). It’s a really long-lasting formula and it’s also water-based so it makes my skin look very healthy and dewy. I think it’s perfect for days when you want to go a bit more dramatic with your makeup but you still want a light base.
Are you a sheer or full coverage girl/guy? Do you have any other sheer foundation recommendations? Let me know 🙂
