Back To School Makeup

The Back To School Edit | Drugstore Edition

Welcome back to yet another edit! I haven’t done one of these in a while so I thought it was the perfect time to bring them back.

Today we’re talking all about back to school, simply because the time has come. And even though I’m not going back to school (thankfully) I know a lot of you are. And I wanted to share the best products to get a quick and natural back to school look.

Back to school makeup is all about slightly enhancing your features. Most people are not allowed to wear tons of makeup to school so the more natural the look, the better.

For complexion I always loved something to make my skin look even and hydrated. It’s important to use something easy to blend because time is a precious thing. To add a bit of dimension to the face I liked to add a little bit of blush to make myself look fresh. And of course I always added a cream highlighter with the least amount of shimmer possible to get that natural my-skin-but-better look.

The eyes are the simplest thing because they require the least steps. My goal was to get the fresh, open-eyed look with the least amount of products possible. I always added a light brown shadow all over the lid for a bit of a hazy look and I contrasted that with nude liner in the waterline. One coat of ‘natural’ mascara finished them off.

As I’ve mentioned before, I have really bushy brows so the only thing I did to define them was run a coat of tinted brow gel through them.

For lips I always went for a hydrated, my-lips-but-better look. Sometimes I liked a tinted lip balm or a sheer lipstick but most of the time I opted for a hydrating lip gloss to make my lips look juicy and keep them hydrated. Plus a gloss is super easy to reapply.

Here are my back to school product picks:
