If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you already know that I am a lipstick junkie. I love collecting lippies and having new things to try out. Which is why I’m always aware of lip trends.
There are some trends that make sense to me and there are some that don’t. But one trend that made me the happiest beauty junkie, is sheer lips. Sheer lips have been everywhere lately and every company has their own version of a sheer lip formula.
As a lippie lover I brought it upon myself to try as many sheer lip products as I could and today, I finally have the results.
( From top to bottom )
Colourpop Blotted Lip in Sucker | This lipstick is a beautiful yet subtle pop of color. It is quite sheer when you first apply it but the more you go over it the more pigmented it becomes. It’s also very lightweight on the lips and it lasts quite a long time on.
Hennè Organics Luxury Lip Tint in Intrigue | This one’s more of a lip balm formula but it still has enough pigmentation to be considered a sheer lippie. It is very moisturizing and nourishing on the lips and it is a beautiful deep color on me.
Lancôme L’Absolu Laquer in 134 | I just reviewed this product but I just had to mention it again. The formula is very glossy and sheer but it can become an intense color if you build it up. This also stains the lips so the color is really long-lasting.
Lancôme Matte Shaker in Nudevotion | What can I say? Lancôme does really good lip products! This lippie is very sheer and it isn’t very buildable once it’s on the lips. But what I love about it is the fact that it’s a matte formula which gives it a unique look and it has enough pigment for it to look like I have something on my lips.
Glossier Generation G Lipstick in Leo | Glossier is the brand for sheer makeup products in general but let’s focus on the lipstick. This is my perfect my-lips-but-better color and it’s really comfortable to wear. You can build this up slightly but it’s meant to be a subtle wash of color so don’t expect a lot of color payoff.
Elf Tinted Lip Oil in Red Kiss | Another affordable option! I love their whole tinted lip oil line because the formula is very moisturizing and they also have a lot of colors. This specific color is very light and very sheer so it won’t add as much pigment as the other lip products mentioned in this post. But it does add a slight tint and it makes your lips look rosy and plump.
What is your take on this whole sheer lip trend? Do you have a favorite sheer lippie? Let me know!
Thank you so much for reading!
Lots of love,
