I’m not the biggest foundation wearer so I’m always looking for something that works as a foundation but doesn’t feel like it. I’ve tried out a few of them but the one that I’ve been trying most recently is the Marc Jacobs Shameless foundation.
There have been many mixed reviews on this product so I decided to pick it up, try it out for myself, and share what I think with you guys.
This foundation claims to be a 24-hour wear foundation with no flashback despite having an SPF of 25. It claims to be medium coverage with a natural finish and skin care benefits. That’s a pretty big claim.
In terms of the formula of this product, I’m confused. I have combination skin and there are days in which this foundation looks good on me and there are days when it looks really bad on me. I have to apply it with a Beauty Blender, otherwise It’ll look quite dry and patchy. Whenever I set it with powder, it always looks super dry so I don’t recommend doing so.
In my opinion it’s a light to medium coverage and it’s not as buildable as I’d like. The more I pile it on, the worse it looks so I like wearing a thin layer for the best results. I do love the fact that it has SPF and the no flashback claim is true. But I don’t really see or feel any skin care benefits when I wear this.
What I do love about this product is the shade range. There’s a huge variety of shades and they even separate them in undertones. Yellow and Red. I think more companies should do that!
I like the packaging. It’s very small and practical. Perfect for on-the-go. That being said, this foundation is $46 which is crazy. I think this is pretty overpriced considering it didn’t really perform as well as I thought it would. There are many other products similar to this that are way better quality and a lot more affordable.
Overall, I think this product is ok. It’s not the worst foundation I’ve used but it’s not the best by a long shot. I’m able to work with it but if I’m paying $46 I want my product to be easy to use.
If you’re thinking on getting this foundation, I’d say invest your money on something else. And, if you’re looking for something that has good coverage and a high SPF I recommend the It Cosmetics CC Cream. It’s way better and more affordable!
Have you guys tried this foundation? Do you feel the same way I do? As always, let me know your thoughts!
Thank you all so much for reading!
Lots of love,
Isa
