The Affordable Edit

The “Edits” have become a big part of my blog and I don’t get tired of writing them! Do make sure to let me know if you feel the same way.

Today, I felt inspired to write yet another edit (go figure). The affordable edit.

Great makeup is great makeup, no matter the price. Products don’t have to be expensive to work well. By now, I think we all know this. I’ve been experimenting with affordable products for years and I’ve been able to get a feel of what works and doesn’t work. On today’s post I’m sharing what I consider to be the best of the best regarding affordable makeup. Don’t go anywhere!

Drugstore/affordable makeup

The trickiest part of affordable makeup is finding what works for you. Especially when it comes to your base. There are a lot of hits and misses and it can be hard to find what suits you best. I love watching reviews and doing research on primers, foundations, concealers and powders to minimize my chances of buying something that doesn’t work for me. Good bronzers, highlighters and blushes are a lot easier to find but I still like to do a bit of research before buying any.

Drugstore/affordable makeup

Finding affordable eye products is the easiest in my opinion. There are a lot of brands with incredible eyeshadow formulas that sometimes work even better than high end formulas. I have found so many affordable mascaras that do wonders for my lashes and there are also a lot of great eyeliner options that perform just as good as their higher end counterparts. Brow products can be a bit trickier to find but there’s quite a bit of variety. You just have to experiment and find what works best for your brows.

Affordable lipsticks are my favorite kind of lipsticks. In most cases you get more than what you payed for and there are so many products to choose from! The drugstore has a great selection. Independent brands have a great selection. Affordable lipstick has got your back sis. But, as always, make sure to do your research cause there are always a few lippies that aren’t that great thrown in the mix.

Here are a few of my favorite affordable products:

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows.  Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows.  Milani Make It Last Setting Spray.  Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Never Been Kissed.  Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation.  L.A. Girl Pro.Conceal.  Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer.  L’Oreal Lash Paradise in Mystic Black.  Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer in Deep Brown.  NYC Liquid Liner in Extreme Black.  Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight.  Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Heroine.  Colourpop Lippie Stix in Peppermint.

What are your thoughts on affordable makeup? Do you love it? Or do you prefer higher end products? I’d love to know 🙂

Thank you so much for reading!

Lots of love,

Isa ❤
