What’s In My Overnight Makeup Bag?

There are a bajillion ‘what’s in my bag?’ posts/videos on the internet. I am well aware of this. I didn’t let that stop me though and today I present to you my version of this tag (or whatever it is).

My best friend is flying down to Guatemala for Spring Break and we’re doing a small overnight trip to Antigua. And since I was already packing my makeup bag for the trip, I decided to bring you guys along.

I am guilty of being an over-packer, especially when it comes to makeup. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. But, I’m really trying to become an efficient packer and I think so far I’m doing pretty well.

When I’m packing my makeup bag for an overnight trip I like to pack based on what I’m gonna be doing. In this case I know I’m gonna be walking and taking a lot of pictures so I packed accordingly.

What's in my makeup bag?

Whenever you pack your makeup, always bring what you know works for you. No new products! It will make your life easier, trust me.

My skin doesn’t look the best at the moment so I don’t want to pile a ton of makeup on it. I’m bringing my Milk Makeup Flex Concealer for my under eyes and to spot conceal. It’s a great concealer that sets on its own so I don’t need to bring a powder with me. I still want to look bronzier than I actually am so I’m also bringing my Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer. It’s a travel size one so it doesn’t take up much space and it works wonders. For highlight I like to go for something a bit glossier and natural so I’m bringing the Nudestix Skin Glossing Pencil along.

I also like to keep the eye products fairly simple. I have a go-to look that makes packing so much easier.

I always take my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden with me. It makes sure my eye makeup stays intact for hours on end. I like a 1 shadow look and I love the MAC Soft Serve Shadow in Quite Yummy! for that. Recently I’ve been obsessed with the whole faux liner thing. To achieve that look I love using the Pat McGrath Labs Dark Matter Pigment. It’s a buildable black which makes it super easy to work with. Mascara is always a must and I’m currently using the new Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara. Mine’s a mini size which is perfect for travel. For the brows I like to keep it simple with Glossier Boy Brow. It gives my brows a lot of volume and definition and it doesn’t take up a lot of space in my bag.

What's in my makeup bag?

Lip products are the thing I struggle with the most. I always want to take a million different lippies but the truth is, I never end up wearing them.

For this short trip I decided to bring an easy nude and a bold color. For my nude I’m bringing Colourpop Blotted Lip in Candy Floss. I love how natural it looks on my lips and how easy it is to reapply. And for the pop of color I’m bringing the Elf Lip Crayon in Rich Red. Just in case I feel like adding a bit of drama to my look.

Most of the products in my overnight makeup bag are either travel sizes, stick products or just small in general. This is extremely helpful when packing for short trips cause you don’t take up a bunch of space in your bag.

How do you guys pack your makeup for overnight trips? Do you go minimal? Or do you need to bring your whole collection with you? I’d love to know 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Lots of love,

Isa ❤
