Trend Testing: Blue Eye Looks

Hey guys! Welcome back to the blog.

As I am currently writing this I’m supposed to be packing for my trip to Japan -which I’m leaving for in two days- but that can wait. Because there’s always time to write a post for you all. But do stay tuned cause more details about Japan are coming soon.

Today’s post is all about testing trends. If you’ve been following my blog then you might have read my beauty trends post. And yeah trends can be fun and innovative but they’re not always wearable. I tested one of the most popular trends right now -blue eye looks- and I figured some ways to make it wearable.

If you want to learn how to rock this trend, make sure to keep reading.

The way to make this trend work is to be minimalistic with it. Blue can sometimes be a scary color to wear but it can be super flattering if done well. Knowing what to pair it up with is key. For example if you’re going for a blue look, try to keep the rest of the makeup to a minimal -including the eyes.

You can see what I mean in the two examples/looks I have for you down below.

Look #1

This is one of the most simple looks ever. For the eyes I used a shimmery shadow on the lids, a soft crease color, and mascara. That’s it. Because, as you can probably tell, the focus is on the lower lash line. You can use any shade of blue you like and the only thing you have to do is line your inner corner. Make sure to fade it out nicely with the same crease color you used on your lids. To add more emphasis to the blue  coat your lashes with the same liner.

As you can see this look is super minimal yet the trend makes it look sophisticated. If you’re afraid of wearing blue on your eyes, a look like this is something you can start out with.

Look #2

This look is more bold compared to the last one, but it can still be wearable. This is basically a winged liner and mascara. Super simple but it looks trendy af. I used a glittery blue liquid liner from Urban Decay to create my wing. I lined the inner rim of my eyes with a black liner to define them. On the top lashes I’m wearing regular black mascara and on the bottom I’m wearing blue mascara. You can also make this look wearable by only doing blue mascara on the top and bottom lashes. No liner.

This trend is all about blue, obviously. But to make it wearable it needs to be comfortable for you. So to pull it off you need to know what works and what doesn’t. Just make sure to keep it simple and minimalistic and you’ll be good to go.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that you learned something new today. Make sure to let me know what you think of it and also let me know if you’d like me to do more blogposts like this one.

Lots of love,

Isa ❤
